We’re working together with iFixit to make it more convenient for independent repair experts and well-trained consumers with the required technical knowledge to access the authentic Google parts they need to fix Pixel phones.

In the coming months, authentic Pixel replacement parts are available for purchase on ifixit.com to purchase Pixel 2 up to Pixel 6 Pro and the future Pixel models, including countries like the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia and EU countries in which Pixel will be available. The entire spare parts needed for typical Pixel repairs to phones — such as batteries, replacement cameras, displays and much more will be available as a set or in iFixit Fix kits with tools like the screwdriver and spudger.

Fixes are more straightforward and accessible.

Suppose you’re unable to repair the problem and require help from a professional. In that case, it is possible to take your vehicle to an in-person location to have it quickly and easily fixed by a trained tech specialist. We have agreements with repair businesses like uBreakiFix, which has hundreds of branches throughout Canada and in the U.S. and Canada, supporting warranties and out-of-warranty Pixel repair. There are also agreements similar to walk-in service support available across Canada, Germany, Japan and the U.K. and more to follow. Pixel Repair options are available in every country where there is an industry in Pixel phones.

We evaluate each new Pixel model to determine how easily repairs can be completed, which means we can cut down on the amount of work required by tools, components, parts, and other items needed for the repair. We also offer tools for training, documentation, and spare parts to repair partners of ours who we approve. Intend to increase access to this shortly.

We’re trying to expand repair opportunities on different devices. We have recently worked with companies like Acer and Lenovo to launch an initiative called”the Chromebook repair service that helps schools locate information about repairable Chromebooks and develop repair software. We also introduced Chrome OS Flex which allows educators and business users to reuse their existing Mac computers or laptops to operate an alternative version of Chrome OS compatible with the Chromebook fleet. This lets users reduce the hardware cost, recycle their old devices, and control their devices effectively and environmentally.

We can assist you in making the right decisions that last.

Repairability enhancement is a vital way to prolong the life and functionality of your phone. It’s only one of the many actions we’re taking to help you make better decisions regarding your options. We’re adhering to our pledge to sustain all of our products is to make sure our products last from the beginning. We’re using the same principles throughout our entire business.

In this case, starting in 2022, the majority of Google Hardware products be made from recycling materials and a determination to recycle content as efficiently as is feasible. In addition, we’ll also be able to provide 100% carbon-neutral transport of Google Hardware products both direct from customers, and we’re aiming to achieve Zero Waste to landfill certification in 2022. We also plan to eliminate plastic packaging in 2025.

To make older devices work as good as new and last for longer. We’ve pledged to provide at least five years of security-related updates on devices such as those of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro and a minimum of five years of automated security updates for devices connected to Nest starting the day that we begin selling them on Amazon.com as well as Google Store. U.S. Google Store. We also provide quarterly feature updates for the software that runs on Pixel phones and other devices, upgrades to Nest products, and additional software updates to Chromebooks.

You can also pick another option if you’re not sure about what to do with your phone when you’ve decided not to use it for any reason. The countries in which we operate the exchange program will accept phones from all popular manufacturers of electronic consumer products. Additionally, you’ll be rewarded with credit points when you buy the latest Pixel, and you can be confident that the previous one is accountable for recycling or reuse. With the aid of our Recycling program, you can send us unwanted or unopened devices, and we’ll reuse the old ones. We try to reuse or recycle components of devices used or returned so that they don’t end up in waste bins. We’re also constantly searching for ways to make it secure and ethical to help with the disposal of outdated electronic devices.

When we launched the first Pixel handset five years ago, in the year 2011, we committed to building our hardware devices with a sustainable approach and focusing on our clients’ needs. There’s still plenty to be accomplished in this regard, including expanding our repair services and making our repairability better for the products we sell. We’re looking at sharing more details in the coming months as we implement the commitment.
